I love this kid.

Seriously, life with him is so much fun. Though it’s incredibly challenging at times, we are constantly reminded of how truly blessed we are. We will never take for granted the blessing of being parents.

And I’m back.

Really decided I don’t like Blogger much. WordPress is where it’s at for me. I haven’t blogged in months though! Awful. So much has happened since August!

We’ve moved back home! Yay! Tyler was able to transfer back to Tally and we’re both so happy to be near our friends and families…especially since we now have a child!

Gunner made his debut on December 12, 2013 (after 2 days of labor), and changed our lives forever! Adjusting to life with a baby hasn’t been easy, but it’s been so much fun. We’re so in love with our precious baby boy, and so incredibly grateful that God chose us to be his parents!

My sissy is due in May with my first niece!!! This one was definitely a surprise baby, but we’re all so excited to finally be getting a girl, after I just had the fourth boy! We can’t wait to meet her.

My baby brother got engaged in October. He’s getting married this October! We are thrilled to be officially adding Meaghan to our family (even though she’s been part of our family for 6 years).

One of my dearest friends, Daphne is getting married in May! MOH duties call. :) Cannot wait to stand beside her on her wedding day and watch her marry the man of her dreams! Josh is one lucky man!

I’ll try to be around more…guess I should keep people posted on how the babe’s doing. :) Lots is happening around here!

Happy Friday!

It’s been a pretty good week for me. :)

wow, i suck.

i just went an entire month without blogging once. oops. oh well. since this blog is really just for me, i guess that’s ok.

not too much has happened. although i did get my camera back and am back in business! that’s exciting. there’s just something about being behind the camera that makes me feel at home. i may not be a fantastic photographer, but i certainly do love taking pictures. speaking of which, i took some of my nephews this weekend. :)

aren’t they adorable?

sometimes

sometimes i just don’t have anything nice (or important) to say. lately, that’s been the case…which is why i have been so quiet. without going into detail, i’ll just say that life has thrown me some curve balls within the past couple of weeks…some of them probably shouldn’t have affected me the way that they did. they weren’t necessarily even my issue, but people i care very much about were hurt. some things were done and said that really just made me want to kick some teeth out ticked me off. remember that one time i talked about forgiveness? yeah, turns out, i still don’t quite have that down. i still struggle with it. guess maybe the Lord is trying to teach me a lesson? probably–that’s usually the case.

also, tyler and i are still visiting around trying to find a new home church. there are so many churches in tallahassee…but it’s just not the same. i went to the same church for 17 years. i grew up there. my family is there. but it’s just not practical for us to drive 30 minutes (one way) to church every day. plus, we both feel like it’s time for us to find a new home, as a married couple. it’s just hard. hard to let go. hard to move on. but we’re getting there. we will find a place where we fit.

anyway, i’m trusting things will settle down and get back to normal soon…whatever that is.

forgiveness

i believe in forgiveness.

it’s freeing.  whether you are giving or receiving forgiveness, there is a freedom that comes with it.  i don’t have the right words to explain it.  it’s something that i believe is best understood through experience.

i know i’ve been on both ends.  i’ve needed forgiveness.  and i’ve been the one who has to forgive.

there is power in forgiveness.  never underestimate it.

when you’re the one who’s been hurt, forgive.  let it go.  it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re not still hurting, but that you choose joy.  don’t let bitterness take over.  unforgiveness will make you bitter.  i’ve been there too.  holding onto grudges, refusing to push forward…it festers and it makes you miserable.  and when you forgive someone who is repentant (and even those who are not), tell them.  it will free you both.

forgive.

trust me.

2. someone sent me this in the mail.  i cried.  sweetest thing ever.
in case you can’t read it, it says:

“hey britt,
when i found out that your purse was stolen, i felt like the Lord wanted me to send this to you.  i’m really sorry that this happened to you.  i just want to encourage you that your Father saw your pain and He cares about every detail of your life.  i pray that what the enemy meant for bad God will turn around for your good. :)  love you and so does your Heavenly father! *scripture: God will take care of everything you need.  Phil 4:19*”

and if you’re reading this, THANK YOU SO MUCH!  i can’t tell you how much it meant to me!
